Educational Goal

Public administration is a study that improves the welfare of the people and improves the quality of public work while harmonizing its basic ideologies, such as democracy, efficiency, rationality, effectiveness, and social equity. In particular, beyond the narrow expertise centered on theory, it aims for comprehensive expertise as a comprehensive academic, a practical academic, and a change management academic. Department of Security and North Korea

Educational Goal

It is training researchers who can conduct in-depth research on North Korea and inter-Korean relations by acquiring expertise in politics, the economy, society, and culture as a whole, and in the transition to a peace system. At a time when the two Koreas are at risk of military tension and armed conflict, and distrust and dialogue between authorities have been cut off, society needs it for peace and development on the Korean Peninsula. Therefore, the goal is to cultivate experts in security and North Korean studies, including those related to inter-Korean exchange and cooperation and to unification demanded by society.

Educational Goal

The educational goal is to cultivate professional social welfare personnel necessary for the realization of a welfare society where all members of society can enjoy a human life. To achieve these goals, it not only raises awareness of social problems and social responsibility but also educates in values, theories, and practical skills that form the professional basis of social welfare policies and practices. This is to train experts in institutionalized welfare practice sites who can understand and solve various social problems in modern society.

Understand the concept of social welfare, the value and ideology of social welfare, and the development process of social welfare. It also learns the research and practice methods of social welfare, policies and systems of social welfare, and major areas of social welfare practice, and examines the research prospects as an academic and practical perspective on social systems.

We explore the formation of knowledge and the practical application of scientific investigative methods to knowledgeize social welfare-related phenomena. To this end, we learn various research methods such as logical composition, conceptualization, organization, measurement, and survey of social science knowledge exploration, Experimental Design, single-subject design, Field Observation, and Content Analysis.

It briefly introduces the ethical conflicts in the field and discusses the ethical issues faced by social workers when they intervene directly or indirectly with clients at the social welfare practice site. Based on a basic understanding of the code of ethics, each student is encouraged to have their own values and ethics suitable for practicing social welfare, and to discuss the need to understand the values of each social welfare subject to resolve conflicts wisely.

It is a subject that shows the characteristics of social welfare education that differentiates it from education in other academic fields, and reflects the applied scientific aspect of social welfare studies well. Students shall be assigned to social welfare practice sites suitable for practical education so that they can receive at least 120 hours of actual education at social welfare institutions. Participate in the process of planning, delivering, and evaluating services, and learn practical tasks through the guidance of supervisors of social welfare institutions and the guidance of school practical professors. Students submit practical reports, and supervisors of social welfare institutions and school practical professors review and evaluate them to help students improve their qualifications and abilities as social workers.

In addition, we will analyze current Korean social welfare policy and its problems by applying a reference framework for assessing the process, content, and effectiveness of social welfare policies.
